Hey everyone! I know it's been a hot minute since I last blogged but boy do I have something awesome to share with you all!
I'm not going to lie, for the past couple of weeks I've been struggling with my skin. For someone who normally has pretty clear skin (not to brag or anything ok) I started getting a bunch of spots and loads of texture on my forehead and a little on my cheeks. I was freaking out!
Because my skin is super sensitive (ya'll know this already) I really couldn't pinpoint what was causing the breakout as I was using all the same products I had always loved and worked for me. I didn't want to risk my skin getting worse so I sought treatment from my derma and after a couple of facials, I felt like my skin was finally under control. The spots were gone, but the texture just wouldn't go away.
So when I received this amazing package from Maxi-Peel Zero, I was both curious and cautious. Like I said I have very sensitive skin so trying a new product was more of a risk for me. But when I read up on the Maxi-Peel Zero, my hesitation started to ease up. Maxi-Peel Zero is a micro-exfoliant fluid that is both gentle and effective on the skin. Infused with a bunch of skin vitamins (Vitamins A, C, E and B3) it not only cleanses the skin, but penetrates the layers of your skin and exfoliates it, giving you a glow from within. Now I know what you're all thinking- all of this for just P75? Yeah, I was skeptical too. Until I tried it.
Although it's gentle enough to use everyday, I decided to slowly incorporate it into my skincare routine by using it thrice a week, just at night, on my forehead, after my normal facial cleanser. And guys, IT DIDN'T IRRITATE MY SKIN! In fact, I honestly think it helped smoothen it out! Literally like on my second use, I saw that some of the little bumps and rough patches on my forehead were so much better! And I didn't look like a tomato! Ever since I started using it on my forehead, I also noticed that towards the latter part of the day I wasn't as oily as I normally would be. For someone who's got a pretty oily t-zone (I have sensitive combination skin) this helped improve my complexion!
I then became a little more comfortable and started using it on my cheeks, which again, didn't turn red. I had a spot on my left cheek and what I decided to do (remember I'm not a derma but I wanted to see if there would be an effect) was I soaked a piece of cotton with the Maxi-Peel Zero and placed it on the pimple for 30 seconds, just to sort of "zap" it with the product. GUYS THE NEXT DAY THE PIMPLE WAS SMALLER AND DRY!!! I don't know if what I did was right but it super shrank! I was so happy cause I didn't need to cover it up with concealer anymore!
Aside from incorporating the Maxi-Peel Zero into my routine (still using it thrice a week for now) I've also been enjoying the Maxi-Peel Sun Protection Cream. For someone who loves her SPF (use SPF everyday girls and gents, E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y) this cream has SPF 20 and feels super light and non greasy on my skin. It goes well under my makeup and doesn't move the products around at all.
So I guess it's safe to say that every once in a while it's also good to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. Even when it comes to skincare! I never in a million years would've thought that a drugstore skincare product would work as well on me as the Maxi-Peel Zero did! I'm not only happy that my skin is slowly but surely improving, but also that it's so readily available in stores and groceries at just P75! Talk about not having to break the bank and that a product's price shouldn't deter you from trying it. I am honestly so pleased with my new Maxi-Peel finds and I can't wait to see how my skin will look in the coming months.
Have you guys tried Maxi-Peel Zero? Let me know!

I wish I could say an electric fan was my favorite summer accessory but sadly it's a wee bit inconvenient to be carrying one around with me wherever I go. And with how hot it's been lately (let's be honest, it's been scorching!) it's getting harder and harder to dress up, let alone leave the house!
But if there's one thing I love about summer, it's being able to wear fun and colorful stuff. Now you all know me, with a wardrobe that consists mostly of black and white pieces
I love how fun, young and cute they are to wear and they really do help spice up an outfit. I think they look amazing with dresses, shorts or my personal favorite, track suit bottoms! Granted I haven't been brave enough to wear pants the past few days (41 degrees? NO THANK YOU GURL) I love how they look when paired with my trusty ZARA shorts.
How about you? What's your favorite Summer Accessory?

I've never really ever been known to be spontaneous, but once in a blue moon (
Now before you get all excited about what exactly "different and unexpected" thing I did, it wasn't anything ground breaking or permanent. I got highlights.
Yeahp.
I know this is something most people don't even think twice about or make a big deal out of, but for me, it's my little way of trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone. I used to love to color my hair and play around with it back in college. I bleached it, chopped it, dyed it red, black, platinum and even shaved it and got a mohawk at one point. So hair stuff isn't anything new to me. But there was just something about that day whilst waiting for my second show that I thought "let's do this, Karla, let's be crazy."
I'm happy to say that I love them so much. Yes they're a bit more spaced out and bright compared to the more subtle shades, but I genuinely wanted something a bit more striking but at the same time easy to maintain and style (
I also got a bunch of DMs on my Instagram asking me what exactly I had done and what the shade is. I'm sorry to say I have no idea what shade they used- my mom's stylist just mixed it up and did her magic. But she did say that she was going to do a Balayage on my hair, so that when my hair grows and the highlights drop it'll still look nice. I personally love it.
So yeah, just wanted to share with you guys a quick hair and style update from me. Random I know! Haha!
