Ready, Set, Glow! | BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette

When my sister Trina told me she had a surprise for me one night I got excited. She's one of the most generous people I know and she's always constantly encouraging me and pushing me to write more about my love of makeup. I know that may sound shallow to some of you but I love collecting and reading up on makeup. It makes me happy, okay? Haha!

So when she busted out this surprise, I almost cried. Seriously. I had written about this palette a few weeks ago (I write for Project Vanity and I have a weekly column/roundup of all things new in the beauty world) and I never dreamt of owning it. I am a huge fan of BECCA Cosmetics. Ever since Trina gave me one of her blushes (the Flowerchild blush- it's amazing) I knew this was going to be a brand that I loved. It never makes me break out and every new product I try I end up loving- which says a lot about the brand for me. Although pricier than others, you really are getting your money's worth with BECCA.

With that being said, I decided to make a little review of the BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette, since it's the latest baby in my growing collection. For those of you who are looking to buy a face palette, or want to try something new, this might be helpful.

Let's start with the beautiful packaging. Just look at how gorgeous it is! It has a marble print in the front and rose gold trimmings. It's also very weighty so it feels extra luxe. With a huge mirror inside, this palette is perfect for traveling! According to BECCA, Chrissy Teigen was very hands on when it came to making this palette. I can see that just by the packaging alone, she wanted something girly, fun and beautiful. It makes me so happy just looking at it!

I'll be honest with you. When I first wrote about this product, I wasn't sure if it was going to suit my skin tone. Chrissy Teigen is more tan than I am (#KutisBondPaperForever) and I wasn't sure if it would be too shimmery and warm for my taste. When I swatched the palette, however, I was blown away! Known for their extremely buttery and heavily pigmented powders, BECCA did not hold back when it came to the 4 powders in this palette. The Glow Face Palette includes:

Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Beach Nectar (warm peachy highlighter)
Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold (baby pink highlighter with gold flecks)
Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil (a medium toned bronzer)
Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom (pink blush with gold hues)

Although these shades are all on the warmer side, I found that they were also flattering for my skin tone. You only need a little bit of each powder in order to add some glow and color to your face.

The highlighters are beautiful, not at all chunky or glittery, and provide the most amazing healthy glow. I tend to use the Beach Nectar highlighter as more of a blush topper.

The bronzer is great for giving your face just a little bit more oomph in the color department. Being quite pale, I find that not all warm toned bronzers look good on me. I've tried a few that made me look quite orange and Oompa Loompa esque but this bronzer is the perfect shade of brown and I'm able to lightly contour my face. It also looks very natural.

And then there's the blush. Oh. My. Goodness. This blush. I have crazy feelings for this blush. First of all, you need the smallest amount of this powder for your cheeks. You have to be light handed when dabbing your brush into this pan. Infused with gold hues, the blush gives you the cutest 'pinched cheek flush' on your face. Sometimes I just put on my eyebrows and add some of this on my cheeks and I'm out the door. It's beautiful.

Overall this palette gets an A+ from me. You can tell that they spent a lot of time, money and effort to perfect this palette and it delivered. It may come at a steep price tag (P 2,615 on Sephora) but I can honestly say that it's worth every penny. This palette is going to last me a long time and I love using it for events, parties and just everyday errands. The mirror is huge and will make packing for trips so much easier. Plus, you can even use the bronzer and highlighters as eye shadows (which I've done as well) so you end up bringing less makeup when you travel.

If you have a friend who loves makeup or if you simply want to treat yourself to something a little more luxe, I highly recommend you check out the BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette. I'm not too sure if ADORA in Greenbelt has this in stock but if you want to check out and swatch some of the BECCA products you can give them a visit. I actually bought my BECCA Beach Tint from them and I was so happy that I was able to swatch all the shades before picking the one I wanted.

So there you guys have it! Just a quick little review of my new favorite palette. I'll be sure to use this in a tutorial on my YouTube channel so please SUBSCRIBE if you haven't already! You can visit my channel HERE. :)

Until the next makeup review!
