One Brand Review: BECCA

12:17:00 PM

I'm not going to lie, aside from the occasional work/event thing I rarely wear makeup anymore. I just groom my brows #kilayislife and head out the door. I don't know if it all boils down to sheer laziness (it does...who am I kidding) or the fact that I've felt like my skin needs a breather (I've been taking my skincare routine super seriously and it's done wonders! But more on that next time) so whenever I do decide to slap some makeup on my face (I blame YouTube tutorials, they're such enablers) I really make sure I use quality products that I trust and love. Which brings me to my first ever "One Brand Review" entry, I figure this is something I could try out for the blog and just let you guys know an overall review of some products and what I think of them. Take note that I have very sensitive skin so when I find a brand that agrees with me, I like to test out a bunch of their products. So let's talk about BECCA Cosmetics!

Let me first start by saying I am by no means a makeup expert or a professional artist. I'm just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her who loves makeup. I blame my older sister Trina for introducing me to BECCA (she gave me the Flowerchild blush) and ever since then I've been in love with the brand. BECCA is a lot pricier than most cosmetic brands but I feel like it's worth every penny. From the classy packaging to the heavenly subtle scents, you can tell that they really took time to study, formulate and produce their makeup. BECCA is available in store at ADORA in Greenbelt or on Sephora Philippines.

The BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal is one of my favorite highlighters of all time. I originally wanted the pressed powder version of this highlighter but since it was out of stock in ADORA, I decided to give the liquid version a go- and it did not disappoint! It gives you the most beautiful glow without looking like an unnatural strobe of glitter. It is scented though so if you aren't too keen on scented products it may be something to consider. I've come to find that it doesn't break me out at all even with the scent which makes me very happy! A little goes a long way and it can even be mixed with a matte foundation for a more glowy look. It's brilliant!

Now let's get to some powder products. It takes a lot for me to love a powder mainly because I don't want to look caked up (especially for events or touch ups) The beauty about BECCA powders is that they're so finely milled that they go on the skin so smoothly. Heavy on the pigment these powders do have a lot of fall out and you definitely have to tap off some of the excess to get the perfect amount of product on your skin. The BECCA Perfect Skin Mineral Powder in Shell is perfect for touchups! I find myself carrying this around in my bag and brush it over areas that look a little oilier than I'd like it to #SeboForDays. The fact that I've given my MAC powder a rest after using it consistently for 5 years (seriously still one of my faves) this powder is super light on the skin and buildable but not cakey.

The BECCA Mineral Blush in Flowerchild is not only a cult favorite but is one of my favorite powder blushes. It gives you that pink cheeked flush with a tiny bit of shimmer, making it look lesslike powder and more like you're actually blushing. Did I mention that it blends like a dream?

The BECCA Backlight Priming Filter is EVERYTHING. Take it from someone who never used to use primers at all. I always thought that it was just a faf, a princess product that wasn't necessary... until I tried this. My sister Trina brought it back for me from the US and it's been amazing. I love using it underneath my makeup especially for gigs or events that I know my picture will be taken (uyyy artista? chos) It keeps my makeup in place no matter what the weather conditions are. I've used it for TV hostings, on stage with strong lights and outdoor gigs under the sun and it's kept everything in place and fresh. It gives you that "glow from within" look without looking oily or disco ball esque and it makes even the most matte of foundations lighter and more wearable.

And last, but by no means least, we have the BECCA Beach Tint in Grapefruit. This is my ultimate summer must have for this year and I can confidently say that it's the best lip-cheek product I've ever tried. A little of this goes a long way in terms of adding color and life back into your cheeks. It smells fruity but not overpowering and adds to the whole "summer vibe" feel. I've always put some on my lips and it gives a very light, natural tint to them, sort of a "my lips but better" look. Super lightweight and comfortable even in the heat, I love popping a little dot on my cheeks and I'm out the door. If you're looking for a multi-purpose product that's easy to carry around and requires little to know fuss, this tint is the product for you!

Have you guys tried BECCA? What are your go to products for this summer?
