#KarlasLibrary: The Perfect "Kilig" Summer Read

5:38:00 PM

Hello everyone! I've decided to add another fun little "segment" into my blog entitled: #KarlasLibrary

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (if you don't then you should- I am quite fun! Haha #shamelessplug) then you would know that I have a passion for a good book. There's just something about cozying up in bed with a fantastic book that transports you to a whole new world #aladdinpun of adventure, romance, crime, passion, etc etc.

I can attribute my love for books to my sister Trina, who, at my early stages, introduced me to the wonderful author R.L. Stine- to which I now owe my love of reading to (what can I say? Zombie Cheerleaders and monsters in the lockers have a special place in my heart). With this being said, I love a good "kilig" book. Who doesn't, right?

Earlier last year, I came across an author that I had never heard of, but was very curious to read her work. Jennifer E. Smith's "The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight" definitely caught my eye at Fullybooked's Best Sellers shelf. I just had to pick it up. The title alone was a mouthful- I could only imagine what the book was like!

Thus began my love affair with Jennifer and her light hearted reads. I ended up purchasing "This is What Happy Looks Like" shortly after and happily devoured it (see what I did there?). It took ages before "The Geography of You and Me" came out (only earlier this month) and I am still in the process of finishing it up. I brought it with me to Vietnam and I couldn't put it down at the airport. So far, it is beyond adorable, incredibly well written, "hugot" worthy and all around puts the biggest smile on my face.

So if you're looking for a sweet little Summer Read, I highly recommend you to pick up one of these books. They are SO worth the money and are a dream to read. There's just something so relatable with how she writes her characters and for those that love a good "pa-tama" line, these books have them!

Karla's Teasers:

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

London based romance of a young American girl and a British boy. There's a wedding, tons of trains, family issues and an instant connection. Oh, and did I mention the book's story is all in 24 hours?

This is What Happy Looks Like

Small town girl meets Hollywood hottie. A story of two completely different worlds, set in the most adorable little town. There's ice cream, a co-star, paparazzi, a quiet little beach and cute little dates. It sounds like one of them predictable books... but it's not.

The Geography of You and Me

A New Yorker meets the super's son in a stuck elevator in their New York City apartment. There's a huge blackout, candles, a rooftop and thousands of miles between them. A love that is fueled by one simple thing: Postcards.

I hope my little teasers were able to entice you guys to try reading any one of the books (or all like me). I can't wait to scour the aisles of Fullybooked for another good book to read.

Any suggestions? :)

  3. Wow! I'm not really into romantic english novels. I prefer to read romantic novels in tagalog since I could feel the "kilig factor" better than english ones. But I find The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight interesting. Thanks for blogging about it. I hope you could blog about books again.
