January Favorites

4:07:00 PM

Hey guys! I thought it's been a while since I last did a "girly" type of entry so I thought what better way to get back into the swing of things by writing up on my recent discoveries and new favorites this January.

Granted, I'm not a makeup or beauty expert nor do I consider myself a "guru"- I'm just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her learning new things about makeup and beauty, and loving the journey. Hopefully this entry will help you decide if you wanna try out new makeup or just overall want to start with some basic pieces that I think are definitely worth the money. :)

Chanel Light Revealing Whitening Makeup Base

Phew! Isn't that a mouthful? I was lucky enough to get this as a Christmas gift from my sister from another mister/friend of my actual biological sister- Steph. I would personally never spend for a primer/makeup base mainly because I don't use foundation and, as you all know, I'm kuripot Haha! All of those things aside, I've been using this base for a good few weeks now and I love it! I mix it in with my Fair Drops BB Cream and it applies like a dream! Plus, there's SPF and since I never put moisturizer or sunblock, this little guy comes in handy. I'm definitely going to be checking out the Chanel counter more often and will save up to try some of their other make up. And did I mention that it smells amazing?

Beabi Perfume Travel Bottle

I really don't know what I've been doing all my life before I had this GENIUS perfume bottle. Guys, this is THE ONE. Since I love traveling and bringing perfume with me on flights and out of town trips, it only made sense that I invest in a travel-friendly bottle to hold my perfume. And I've found it! It is worth P395 (trust me, I was very hesitant to get it at first- who spends that much on a tiny little bottle?!) But thank God I did! You basically use this bad boy like this:

1) Get your big bottle of perfume
2) Uncap the spritzer thingy
3) Connect the plastic stem from your perfume to the bottom of the travel bottle
4) Pump until bottle is full

And there you go! You now have 5ml of your favorite perfume on the go! Isn't it brilliant?! It comes in a ton of colors as well and I'm going to pick up another one for another perfume of mine. :)

Maybelline Colored Eyebrow Gel

I must say this product is my ultimate favorite of the month. It's exactly like Benefit's Gimme Brow but for much cheaper and with for me, a better applicator. I didn't think I'd love the whole "ball applicator" concept, it just seemed really gimmicky to me but I have to say, it works wonders! It's the perfect shade of dark brown and is able to keep them in place, which is something I really look for in a good brow gel. It's less than P400 pesos so you won't really break the bank! Good value for your money if you ask me! :)

Maybelline Fashion Brow Pencil in Brown

I didn't think I would love anything as much as my Sleek Brow Stylist but I have to hand it to Maybelline this month, their Fashion Brow is on point! It's sad that it only comes in a few shades but I was happy that the brown shade was more ashy in tone, making it a better match for my brows than most drugstore brow pencils. It's a retractable pencil with a spoolie at the end and could definitely pass for a dupe of the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil. The only thing I don't like about it too much is that the pencil broke off a couple of times, wasting the product.

Maybelline Mineral Concealer in 01

It isn't as amazing as the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer even if it is more expensive (just goes to show that good makeup doesn't have to be expensive) but this concealer was alright overall. I mix it with my Collection concealer in Medium 3 and it stays on pretty well. I would only recommend this on blemishes as it tends to crease along the eye area, giving off those little lines that can get really annoying. The pigmentation is alright and the coverage is medium, nothing too extreme and perfect for those light makeup days.

That's it for my little January Beauty Haul! I can't wait for my trip to Korea next week! I hear Korean makeup is AMAZING and I can't wait to try them out! :)
