UST BlogCon 2014
3:55:00 PM
Hey everyone! Just thought I'd blog today seeing as I'm sitting comfortably on my couch
A month or so ago, I was invited to speak at the UST BlogCon 2014. Now, I had never ever been invited to speak about my blog anywhere, so I was a little hesitant at first to say yes. I did end up saying "Yes" (parang proposal lang noh?) because:
1. I love the UST community (I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of UST students and alumni and they've been nothing but sweet and amazing)
2. It was an honor to even be asked to speak at a school planned event (considering I don't even consider myself a "legit blogger")
3. It was something new for me to do (bucketlist, check!)
The days leading up to the event were pretty chill for me (Naks! Experienced??). I made a KeyNote presentation since I'm too kuripot to buy the Microsoft Office for Mac (P8,000 pesos?! Ain't nobody got time fo that!) and I was just reading through it, trying to make sure it had everything I wanted to say.

How cute is my Mom??? |
The event was so fun and everyone was so participative! I was actually really nervous because when I saw the names of the speakers, I realized that everyone was like, LEGIT. We're talking .coms, .nets, .ph and whatever else that isn't my humble I-don't-know-how-to-make-it-a-.com-nor-do-I-think-I'm-qualified-to-do-so thesjseries.blogspot.com
It didn't help that my talk was immediately after a obvious crowd favorite like Abbey Sy who not only made everyone laugh, but amazed everyone with her art and lettering. ANO BA YAN HINDI NGA AKO TALENTED EH! *insert crying emoji here* But I just told myself that I was gonna have fun and try to get my message across and hopefully people would stay to listen. And guess what?
THEY DID!
*All photos of BlogCon are not mine, these were all sent to me and therefore I do not own any of them. But thank you to all those that documented this moment for me! Hihi*
Not only did people listen, but they laughed too. And hard! It was so wonderful, hearing everyone laugh at my hirits and jej comments about myself and my blog and it was great to see them take down notes (actually di ako sure kung notes yan or tweets/texting with their crushes HAHA). My talk was about "Defining Your Writing Style" or basically my "tips" for those who wanna start writing their blogs. It was great to be able incorporate everything I learned throughout my blogging experiences as well as showing them my inspirations in blogging world (Hello Karla Deras, Patty Laurel-Filart and Kim Jones!)
What I didn't expect and what made me want to cry was that at the end of my talk, everyone clapped so loudly and I ended up getting to meet a lot of readers and listeners on my way out of the event. GRABE GUYS NAKAKATOUCH LANG TALAGA! People were approaching me saying hi, asking for pictures, telling me about my blog and my talk and it was just so heartwarming and I remember thanking God in that moment because I truly felt so loved. I never knew my blog and jej self could touch/affect so many lives (not like I'm some Mother Teresa or anything) but still. So humbling talaga. :')

Me having a sweet love connection with the cutest boy ever (you know who you are, cutie HAHA) |
I know the word "amazing" is splattered all across this entry but that's really the only word I can think of to describe how everything felt for me. So again, thank you to the UST BlogCon committee for inviting me and thank you UST for always being so loving and kind every time I visit. I really do love the UST community very very much. :)
Also, I just thought I'd share with you all the pictures that I got from everyone who attended. Thank you to all those who tweeted me these pictures, I hope to see you all again very soon.

And speaking of UST, I will be back at the UST Campus on October 24, for a talk on Hosting! I hope to see some of you there as well. I am also very very nervous for that talk so wish me luck! Haha :P
Thank you again to everyone who tweeted me and attended the talk. You really don't understand how much it means to me to not only meet you, but to be able to say thank you in person. I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life. :')
