What's in my everyday Makeup Kit?
12:46:00 PMI've gotten a couple of emails asking me what exactly is in my makeup kit and to be frank, I never really bothered making an entry on this topic because:
1. I was lazy to take pictures
2. I like makeup, but I never really learned how to apply it properly
3. I have REALLY sensitive skin so I didn't know if the brands I wanted to buy were good for me
4. I was lazy to take pictures
But ever since I became a VJ, I learned a thing or two about applying makeup and what shades and kinds of makeup suit my face (at least I think I do, so far, I don't look naman like espasol HAHA). I also watched a ton of YouTube tutorials and took note of the many different brands of makeup out there. I also did my research (ugh so dorky) on what brands of makeup were good for super mega sensitive skin like mine (seriously guys, I am like, the epitome of sensitive skin HUHU) and after getting a bunch of brands of makeup that I felt comfortable in (and wouldn't make me breakout in hives) I decided to finally make an entry on the makeup that I bring around with me in my bag. Granted I don't use these everyday, I feel a sense of security (ano daw?!) when I carry them around with me. So, here you go! :)
- MAC NC30 Concealer
- Fairy Drops BB Cream in Light Orchid (available in Beauty Bar)
- MAC NC30 Powder Foundation
- MAC Matte Blush in Mocha
Since my skin is so sensitive, I really try to put as little make up as possible. I HATE using liquid foundation (because I can never seem to put it on evenly) and I hear that it clogs the pores really bad making you more prone to acne breakouts so for everyday I just use baby powder. Yup, you heard me, BABY POWDER. Maybe it's cause my skin is the same color as bond paper, but I find applying baby powder on my skin very easy. Plus since it's so light and gentle, I never get any breakouts or irritations.
But for when days that I have taping or events I need to host, I use powder foundation on top of BB Cream for extra coverage. I really love how MAC feels on my skin. It's the first "main stream" makeup brand that doesn't make me breakout and leaves my face feeling light and makeup free.
Eyes and Brows
- MAC Brow Set in GirlBoy
- MAC Eye Brows in Brunette
- NICHIDO Mineral Eyebrow Pencil in Hazelnut
- Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
- Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
- Makeup Forever Aqua Brow in Shade 20
I'm not very good at putting eyeshadow on (I'm still learning from Ate Jo our makeup artist in MYX and various YouTube tutorials) so on regular days
As for my brows, well, God blessed me with the world's shortest eyebrows. No, seriously, they're like, an inch long HAHA! So I lengthen them by drawing a tail using MAC's Brunette Pencil- which is my ultimate favorite.
BUT WAIT!!!!
For those that don't really wanna spend a lot of money on an eyebrow pencil (MAC is P995) I found the BEST alternative which I also use when I'm just going out to the grocery or wherever (grocery pa talaga eh noh? Haha) Ate Jo told me about this inexpensive brand in Watson's called NICHIDO and I promise you, it has the SAME feel and effect as MAC! It's P139 pesos and it works just as good! So there you go girls, something super affordable and just as awesome.
I also use Makeup Forever's AQUA BROW ever since I saw VJ Iya putting on her makeup during taping. She told me al about it and swears by the prodcut so siyempre I just had to go out and buy my own (Makeup Forever is now available here but I got mine from Hong Kong). It;s a great product cause it's waterproof and super easy to put on. You just need an awesome brush.
Since my hair is light, my brows need to match it (although some women like darker brows) so I just lightly coat mine with MAC's Brow set in Girl Boy. It's the best!
Lips
- EOS Lipbalm
- Topshop Lip Crayon in Clueless
- MAC Archie Lipglass in Strawberry Malt
- MAC RiRi Boy
- MAC Lady Danger
- MAC Please Me
- MAC RiRi Woo
- MAC Rebel
I looooooveeee lipstick! I honestly believe that all a girl needs are defined brows and a great shade of lipstick. I have over 20 tubes of lipstick but I only bring around a few of them with me. Now when I say a few, I mean quite a lot. I don't know why but I feel the need to have more than one shade of lipstick in my bag (for emergencies kamo HAHA)
So there you have it! The makeup I bring around with me in my bag. Hope this entry was helpful in some way. :)

This makeup kit is looking very nice and I would like to tell that I too have recently found a site who is offering makeup kit for beginners. These kits are very easy to use.
