Barkada shot lang featuring Kelly, Anne and Nics HAHA

For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed planning things. From birthdays to surprises, get togethers to trips, I have always ENJOYED fixing things up. I guess the OC freak girl in me just lives for these kinds of stuff. So it's no surprise that ever since I started dating my Bubba, I've been wanting to plan a little something from him for his loyal band of FRIENDS (I like saying friends over "fans") as a way of saying thank you for their never ending support.

P.S. All of the pictures here are from the NICOnatics that sent me pictures and tagged me. Because I was so busy being a "game master" I wasn't able to take many pictures. So thank you for letting me use these! :)

People always tell me nga that if I were an "artista" my fans would love me (ano daw?!). Mahilig kasi ako mag pa-party. Burger burger burger! Haha... So after months and months of planning, after making kulit and fixing things up, my Bubba's and my schedule finally freed up and we were able to have his little Sunday party with the NICOnatics (don't you just love the name? SO CUTE).

Thanks to the wonderful and generous Greenwich team, we were able to have our late lunch in Greenwich Galleria. It was a nice place to have it because we were guaranteed GREAT food and GOOD service. I seriously am in love with Greenwich. They have the BEST lasagna and glazed chicken... I could eat it all day, everyday. Yum yum yum.

I was also able to ask Bubba to talk to GetBlued and Gatorade if they would like to be a part of this celebration. I tell you, ako na kasi dapat manager ni Nics eh. I know all his sponsors and I know who he should contact when it comes to things like this HAHA anyway.... They were both generous and AWESOME enough to say yes! Yay! So everything was really coming together. We had a place with food and we had prizes and giveaways for everyone. All we really needed was people that were going to go.


Bubba and I arrived half an hour early so I could shop to walk around and then go set up. I remember him saying he was scared that no one would show up. I just smiled at him and said that there would definitely be people- but if wala, well, nan diyan naman ako eh. And I'm his biggest fan! WAHAHAHA! Thanks to Cherry, our go-to NICOnatics leader and friend, however, the Bubba's worrying wasn't necessary because the turn out was great!

It was nice to meet the different people that showed up. People from ALL OVER came to hang with us. Imagine- some came from Pampanga, Paranaque and Cavite! All the way to Galleria for a lunch with Nics?? How sweet are they?! How BLESSED is Nics!!! It was also nice to see how Nics spoke to them and made kwento with them. It really felt like one big barkada outing and I was so happy about it. I really enjoyed just watching everything happen (but of course, being so madaldal friendly, I ended up making chikka with everyone as well). We ate tons and tons of food! Greenwich was scared ata na magutom kami! NKKLK!



We had 5 different kinds of pizzas, plates of fried chicken, plates and plates of GLAZED CHICKEN (ERMERHGERD I DIED) and an unlimited supply of their lasagna. AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! The lasagna... omg I'm craving for it now. WHY OH WHY IS IT SO YUMMEH!!! :(( It was nice to see everyone just laughing and making kwento about past games and their favorite moments. Even if the topics were mostly basketball related, nakikirelate naman rin ako. Poser eh. Haha!

I was so amazed at how happy everyone was, and I truly believe that God planned it all out. Really. Bubba and I may have contacted the sponsors and whatever, but it was GOD who made everything great. It was such a nice lunch!

After we ate, we started playing some games. Thanks to our friends over at Gatorade, we were able to have some really kick ass dry fit Gatorade shirts and super cute sports towels as our first giveaways! I swear I really wanted my own towel but naubos sa mga games! I couldn't join eh. HUHU :( Everyone had fun answering little trivia about Nics and grabe, SILA NA! They knew everything about him. Talo pa ako!

We then got to the more "grand" prizes- things from Nics' own closet! He decided to giveaway some signature socks (unused DAW), an Ateneo sweatshirt (bakit ako walang ganun?), a GetBlued mug with his face on it (parang missing child lang sa milk carton) and of course... the Grandest of the Grand... a pair of GAME WORN NIKE BASKETBALL SHOES! With free kachichas! Yahoo! Haha


Everyone got so competitive and it was so cute to watch them really think about the answers to the questions and try to beat each other in raising their hands. SUPER KYOOT TALAGA nakakagigil! We couldn't stop laughing and everyone ended up winning prizes which was great.

As a final giveaway, Nics gave everyone an Ateneo GetBlued shirt. Imagine! THE shirts that are sold at games! The designs were all so nice and I was so happy that everyone was able to go home with a shirt of their choice. Thank you so much GetBlued! Your shirts ROCK! :)



What really made me happy was after our little "program" - the picture taking. You see, I know that after games people hang around for forever just to wait for the players to exit so they can have pictures with them. I know that it's hard because I see people competing to get a picture before the player makes a run for it and leaves. It was GREAT to see that everyone was able to have NUMEROUS pictures with Nics and you could see, todo lang talaga mga smiles. Yay! :)


What really touched me though was how sweet everyone was to me. As in, I wanted to cry siguro mga 10 times last Sunday (drama queen?). Everyone was so sweet and made me feel so loved! They even asked me to sign their notebooks (artista na ba ako?) and they all wanted pictures with me (the cam whore in me was so happy). REALLY! I have never felt so LOVED! Also, thank you so much to Cherry, Rika, Rodge, Brenna and Regz for the gifts. OMG guys, may gifts rin ako!!! Brenna gave me a whole box of Ferrero just for me! Wala siyang gift for Nics. For me lang! Haha :))

Such blessings!!!!

You see, there are SO MANY thoughtful, sweet, nice and amazing people out there. They truly are blessings and they overpower and outnumber the "haters" and NEGAtrons in life. I really wanted to cry and it made all the stress and kulitans for the past months worth it! I told Nics that we should host these lunches more often and he agreed! He had so much fun he can't wait to do it all again.


So thanks again to Greenwich, GetBlued and Gatorade for being so generous and supportive of Nics and all his endeavors both in basketball and in his life. Companies and brands like yours continue to help mold fantastic athletes.


A big thank you also to my Bubba, who patiently took all my little sermons and kulitans about planning something like this. And who took the time for his rest weekends from his busy schedule to hang out with some of his new found friends. Thank you for being a sweet, generous and DOWN TO EARTH athlete. I love how you were able to share a part of yourself with them and proved how WRONG people are with their assumptions about who you are. Thank you for sharing yourself and being the best person ever. It's no wonder I fall more and more in love with you every single day.

And last but certainly not the least, a BIG THANK YOU to the NICOnatics who cam last Sunday. Without people like you who tirelessly support, encourage and devote time to Nics and his career, he wouldn't be the athlete he is today. Your undying support and love just goes to show how much of a POSITIVE influence you are to Nics and how WRONG people are about what kind of a person he is. Thank you for following his career and continuing to support him on and off the court.


Thank you as well for always being so sweet to me, for making me feel loved and making me feel like a basketball superstar. I may not be an artista with millions of adoring fans, but, I AM BEYOND BLESSED to have sweethearts like you in my life. Making me feel so special for being me. Thank you so much. Iiyak na ako right now actually as I'm writing this! No joke! Huhu :(

To all those NICOnatics that couldn't attend but sent tweets, thank you. Your tweets are something I look forward to reading everyday and I'm sorry if I don't get to reply to all of you. Thank you also for reading my blog and sending me emails. Don't worry, Nics and are planning MANY MORE lunches and parties for this year and the years to come and we can't wait to meet more of you! Let's make this barkada BIGGER AND BIGGER! :)
