Kitchen Confidential: Goodbye Annoying Pimple!

4:05:00 PM

Hi guys! So as you can see by the title of this post, my topic for today has got to do with, well, you guessed it, the Kitchen! Yummy! I don’t know about you guys but when I think about my kitchen I can’t help but smile. I love food so much that really, if I could live in my kitchen, I would! The fridge and pantry would be so much closer to me… I’d probably also be like 500 pounds Haha! I’m not going to talk about EATING the food found in the kitchen though. No. I’m going to talk about the food that YOU can use on your body! (And NO, not that kind of “use” you pervs! Haha)

I love finding out about new home remedies and all natural ways to treat some of life’s most horrible things- like zits and bad hair! So I’ve come up with a few things that I’ve tried and tested on myself and have come to love. I’m going to call this series "KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL" kasi cool ako and I plan to update and blog about more things as I go.

You see, this is another Simple Joy- finding all natural home remedies that can help make you feel good and live healthier! :)

Hold the egg whites please… for a mask!

Sounds weird right? Yeah, that’s what I thought, until three HUMONGOUS zits appeared on my face one night. QUE HORROR!

Since I didn’t have time to go to the derma, I did what anything other twenty something woman would do- I panicked! I was contemplating whether or not to start squeezing the life out of them when I remembered- Pimples are KSP like me so the more you pick on them and squeeze your heart out, the bigger, redder and angrier they get! What was I going to do?? They were slowly taking over my face and I didn’t know how I was going to fight back! After several minutes of panicking, crying and contemplating whether or not I was going to cut up an old shirt and sew a mask on for the next day, I decided to consult with my bestfriend- Google. I found out that there were several home remedies you could try to combat the “evil ones.” With all the different stories and options, I went for the one that seemed the most harmless and one that I knew we had plenty of stock of at home- the Egg White Mask.

Here’s what you need to do
  1. Grab a bowl
  2. Grab an egg
  3. Crack the egg (this may be tricky so prepare several eggs to crack just in case)
  4. Separate the egg yolk from the white
  5. Place the egg white in the bowl and stir it a little until you see small bubbles
  6. Grab a cotton ball and dip it in the egg white mixture
  7. Wipe some egg white on the affected areas. Let it dry and leave it on overnight
  8. Wash it off in the morning

See how simple it is? What I did though was I put a little on my skin first to see if I was allergic (turns out I’m not and I have super sensitive skin!) so you should definitely do that too- I wouldn’t want you to breakout even more! Also, please don’t eat the egg whites or place it near your mouth. You might get salmonella which is worse than a pimple!

What happens: The egg whites start to harden and your face gets a little itchy (not the scary rashes type). When it starts to harden you feel your skin start to tighten. Just relax and let it be. Sleep on it. Apparently there’s something in the egg whites that helps lessen the redness and the size of the pimples. When I checked on my skin the next day, my zits seemed smaller and were less red. Not as noticeable as they were the night before. I did it for another 2 days (the egg whites tend to go bad after while even when in the fridge) and my zits were basically gone in 2-3 days. It helped that I didn’t pick on them too.

So the next time you find an unwanted zit, try this out first before panicking. You never know, an egg might just be your little savior!

    1. Hi sweetie! Well some say this egg white mask also helps remove the dead skin cells and lightens the skin I'm just not too sure if it's true. My pimples though after they disappeared didn't leave behind those annoying red dots so I guess it works? :) I will make another blog entry on lightening certain dark spots and scars since I've just recently tried a few things and I've got to say some actually did work! Stay tuned for that :)
