Comfy Ballet Flats
6:51:00 PM
Taking a break from all things cheesy aka my Sundate
entry with the Bubster, I’ve decided to write about a simple joy that’s
both cute and fun (and NO, it’s not me. YES, there’s like that!) a pair of
ridiculously comfy, BALLET FLATS! Yayyyy!!!
Please forgive me, but I am just crazy for shoes. My love
affair started way back when I was about four feet tall, extremely chubby
and a brat 4 years old and my
Mom came home one day with the cutest pair of glitter jelly sandals for me. I
remember them vividly. They were pink, with a cute silver buckle on each side
for the straps and the silver glitters sprinkled all around. I loved them so
much that I demanded my mom lovingly asked my mom to buy me the other
colors (which she did since I was threatening to throw a tantrum asked
oh so lovingly) and that was that. Fast forward to today, I have over 40 pairs
of shoes (Or so I think, I’m actually too afraid busy to count Hihi) and
I still can’t stop. Peg ko ata Imelda Marcos or Carrie Bradshaw but with no
designer brands Haha! CHAR-rie Bradshaw Peg nalang Hihi! Okay anywayyyy…
Let’s face it, shoes are a big part of our lives. We use
them everyday (unless hippie ang peg mo and barefoot is your trip you weirdo
unique individual) so it’s really important to find comfy shoes that look good.
I’ve been on the quest for the perfect pair of ballet flats since I first
realized I was never going to be an ACTUAL ballerina since I’m poorly
coordinated and the opposite of graceful, so dressing like one was the
closest I would ever get. I am a poser. Being a half size (7.5) it’s
either the shoes are too small or too big for me (curse you brands with cute
shoes that don’t have half sizes!) especially when it comes to heels. The good
thing about ballet flats though is that even if I get an 8, since it’s flat, it
doesn’t seem too big (that’s what she said).
Allow me to share with you my top brands for flats and the
styles I have so you can try them out for yourself. I guarantee you, they’re
super comfy!
TOPSHOP
My love for this brand all started during a trip to Singapore
with my family back in 2002. I was twelve years old and a nene with no
fashion sense and I was more concerned with collecting Bratz dolls than
anything fashyown walking around the mall with my two older sisters and
mom. We passed by a store with a simple black sign that read “Topshop.” We
entered and, that was that. Clothes upon clothes of gorgeousness (yes, that’s a
word) and jeans that felt too good to be true. I may have been a nene 12
but I knew that this brand was going to be one of my favorites of all time.
11 years later and Topshop still remains one of my go-to
places for clothes (I’m so happy they’ve made Manila their home too). I will
admit, some of their clothes are pretty pricey (I’ve seen dresses there worth
over 6,000 and a jacket I wanted that was 9,000!!!) but the others are pretty
reasonable and definitely worth your money! Plus they have half sizes! Yayyy!
Gold Studded Suede Loafers
Ever since I saw these babies on Tumblr, I knew I had to
have them. When Topshop came out with them my loving Bubba bought them for me after
I twisted his arm and kicked him where it counts as a reward for me being
supportive during his last UAAP season. They are so comfy and super cute- they
can go with anything really. Just don’t use them outdoors if you know it’s
going to rain (suede and water don’t mix!)
Price: P2,200++
Classic Nude Leather Ballet Flats
EGAD. When I saw these guys I wanted to cry. I had not seen
anything so beautiful- they looked exactly like the ballet flats REAL
ballerinas wear after dance class. I HAD TO HAVE THEM. Poser ako eh. These
are perfect on days that you want to feel girly and still be comfortable. I
love how the nude matches my skin tone so it makes my feet look clean (my feet
ARE clean okay, I wash them naman Haha)
Price: P1,195.00
Classic Black Ballet Flats
Once you go black… you can match it with everything!
Hoy! What were you thinking of huh?! Hehe
Price: P1,195.00
H&M
H&M sadly, isn’t available in the Philippines (although
I’ve been hearing rumors that it’s going to be brought in by Rustans? Can
someone confirm this for me?) so this brand may be harder to find for you. It’s
available though in Hong Kong so if you have any friends or relatives who
live/are going there, you might want to try and check out the site for
pabilins!
Tan Leather Ribbon Flats
I love tan leather. There’s something very Indiana Jones/The Mummy about the color
that makes me feel cool (yes I know, I am a dork okay). These guys are easy to
match and are super comfy even if they’re a size 8!
Price: Gift from the Bubba
Leopard Suede Flats
These guys are for those who want a little more attitude for
their outfit. I’ve had these babies for almost 2 years already and they’re
still one of my favorites and are still just as comfy! Granted they’ve seen
better days (they have braved the flood waters at Ateneo during the peak of
rainy season) but I love them just as much.
Price: Gift from the Bubba (oo alam ko, sugar daddy peg
niya)
ZARA
I had a pair of red Zara ballet flats that were my absolute
favorite. I wore them almost all the time because I felt like Dorothy from
the Wizard of Oz they were just so comfy. Unfortunately I left them
somewhere in school and never saw them again. I AM STILL LOOKING FOR YOU, YOU
RED SHOE WEARING THIEF!!!! I wish I had kachichas so you would get hawa! (Only
HALF kidding)
Pewter Black Ribbon Flats
First of all, I had to Google how to spell Pewter HAHA
(admit it! You use Google for spell check too! Hehe) Okay anyway, these guys
are just as comfy as my beloved red flats (I will always miss you, Dorothy
HUHU). I love how unique the color of pewter is- it’s like a mix of black and
silver or as I like to call it “Dirty Silver” Haha! These go great as a
statement shoe to an outfit even if they aren’t heels. Zara has proven to have
a wide range of clothes that are both affordable and of good quality. I highly
recommend you guys checking out what kind of flats they have.
Price: Gift from the Bubba from Indonesia (Yehes,
hinandcarry!)
Greenhills Tiangge
Flats
L-R: Super soft cloth "Landi Loafers" with pink and purple hearts, Brown Suede flats (with missing ribbons- told you they're cheap!), Tan flats, Black flats |
Being the cheapskate that I am (I buy my things with my own
money which requires me to save and really think about purchases) I’ve found
that if you look hard enough and are patient enough to try stuff on and are
willing to be bumped and hit by thousands of shoppers, Greenhills has some
of the comfiest flats out there. And they’re super cheap too! These guys are
from those booths that sell only shoes. And guess what? They’re 2 for P580!
Imagine?? Two pairs for P580?? Granted I lost a pair after wearing them only
once (the sole came off while I was walking around the mall to the tune of Flo
Rida’s hit “Club Can’t Handle Me” which caused me to trip and nearly kill
myself by the escalator while all the salesladies of Kamiseta laughed at me
didn’t see a thing) The others are still alive and are still just as comfy!
So there you have it, just some of my favorite pairs of
flats and the brands that carry them. I hope you enjoyed this entry and I hope
it helps anyone looking for that perfect pair.
Maybe next time I’ll do an entry on boots. Or sneakers. Or
heels. Hay, I will go broke with this shoe obsession. I will literally be the
lady who lived in a shoe. HAHA (sana hindi naman Lord I am learning to control
my purchasing)
P.S. I just wanna share with you guys my wishlist for the perfect pair of ballet flats. So for anyone who wants to be generous (my birthday is on October 3 Hehe) check out these amazing shoes!
What are some of your favorite brands for ballet flats? J

Heel is women first priority of style. Without heel their style is not complete. But they don't know heels are not good for our feet. It's harm our feet. running shoes for flat feet
